Scimitar-Talon is Free Company Fighting Unit.
First Company of Scimitar-Talon, Birds of Prey and the first company of youth fighters, Masters of the Lion, are based in Phoenix Arizona. We primarily fight in and for Atenveldt. If we travel to any of our other unit's home territory, we will fight for that unit's territory. We are a free company and therefore can be hired for wars and skirmishes. Being a free company, it is expected that those that hire us give us a job to do and we will do it. However, our commanders will always be in command of the units we field. We also teach. The classes we hold is for the learning of the Knightly arts presented between 400 A.D. through 1650 A.D. Support Your Kingdom in the Lions Road Podcast End Of The Year Photo Contest Lions Road SCA Podcast http://lionsroad.org How was you year? Did you snap a few photos? Well enter our end of the eyar photo contest and you could win!!! We want to see your best photographs of the year. We are looking for the best photographs not the best photographer, so anyone can enter and anyone can win. We will start with a Kingdom Level contest through November with the best photos from each Kingdom advancing to a joint pool showdown in December. We will announce our grandprize winner on the final live online call in show at the end of December. Winner will receive a drawing from the Lions Road Prize Pool and the Lions Road Money Pouch ($100) cash. Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age. Venturing`s purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Venturing is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth, adult leaders, and organizations in their communities. Local community organizations establish a Venturing crew by matching their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. The result is a program of exciting and meaningful activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow, develop leadership skills, and become good citizens. Good morning! Starting April 4, 2009 we are going to be starting a few new and old things: 1. Scimitar-Talon, Academy for the Knightly Arts will be starting up again 2. Armor shop 3. Monthly operational meetings 4. After we get our act together on the field, we have a group that will be interested to play against. 5. We will be having fund raisers: - Lower event costs - More resources for the shop There are Posts being designed that need filled. Farwell party for Tarmack - over a year ago, 3 comments
Tommorrow night, Sept 13th Thursday at 8pm. Scimitar Talon and Odin's Hold says good bye to Tarmack who is moving back the the City of the Angels to be corrupted by the Templars of Caid. It is time to say good bye and burn the proper sacrifices or at least swill the libations one last time with him before Estrella War which will mark his return to the land of the living and the Valley of the Burning Sun. I send prays and blessings to him. Bragi will toast him. Ulf if he was around would Rune him with prayers of protection. Brother Tomas

Many years ago,there was a British General,Sir Bsden Powell,that fought in the Boor War in South Africa. He wrote a book called Scouting for Boys. He wrote that each scout would wear a long sleeve shirt,shorts,a hat,a scarf and carry a staff with him while in the outdoors while hiking and adventuring. Several soouts together could use their staffs and tie them together with their scarves by lashing them together to overcome and climb obstacles, make a bridge to cross a gully or make a stretcher to carry someone wounded to safety. Just like the scouts described by Sir Baden-Powell,as we work together as a team and a unit, then we can overcome all obstacles and barriers together. On the soapbox..............
